Fred is a perfectionist. A great thing to have in a mechanic.
Aside from addressing my initial issues - regular stuff....rattles, oil, check engine light, etc - I went with Fred to do some performance modifications.
Since I started with Fred, he's worked on my BMW M3, my Porsche Boxster, Audi A4 and Prius over the years. He's put in springs, sway bars, custom headlights, painted wheel center caps, bulbs, etc etc. Everything from nuts to bolts. Fred needs to be happy with his own work before he will even present it to you. That's why I'm a repeat customer.
Fred actually has a personal integrity and honor which is otherwise lacking in this trade. Additionally, his pricing is always fair, especially in consideration of what he is capable of. I've now referred my Dad, sister and friends to Fred, and they've had similar experiences.
