I went to Jackson Hewitt to get my 2008 and 2009 taxes prepared. I had problems from the beginning because the girl that was doing my taxes had quit and they had been put aside even though I had told them the urgency of this. My taxes were prepared and I came in and paid for them. I was told since it was a paper return, it would be sent in and I was not given a copy of the returns. When I start getting garnishment notices from the state, I checked and found out that Jackson Hewitt had never filed my taxes as the girl (not the man who prepared them) told me they would be! I demanded proof where they had been sent and they could not produce that. I drove back over there and got a second copy myself which I mailed return receipt. By the time this happened, I had already had TWO garnishments from my paycheck of $465.50 and $142.50. I disputed the charges with AMEX and Jackson Hewitt send AMEX a copy where I had signed the receipt. I did not dispute that I had not signed it but I signed it b/c I was told that my taxes would be filed. NOW Jackson Hewitt has decided to put a SECOND charge on my credit card of the exact same amount of $284.00 on July 7, 2010 when I have not even been in there since MAY! PURE FRAUD!
